What did I accomplish this week?
- I fully gutted my lamp, now it’s just the shell.
- I made sure the arduino and accompanying wires will fit in the base of the lamp.
- I received the items I had ordered in the mail, and found good documentation on the LCD on canvas.
- Started to consider a sound component, but still unsure about that.
- Looked at how far back the neopixel would go in the lamp head.
What do I plan to have done by next week?
- Definitely need to push this week. I’m going to get working on the neopixel, as it definitely was intimidating when I first looked at it this week.
- Keep working on the LCD
- Start measuring and figuring out if I need anything else before I get too close to the end.
What was the most challenging part of the project this week?
- Getting started. I have so much going on that getting going is seeming really overwhelming. I am trying to break it into sections. I will do that below just for my own sanity.
Breaking into parts what I need to do
- Test neopixel
- Test RTC with LCD
- Test RTC with neopixel
- Test how to get LCD working properly
- Input of time
- How long the wake up sequence will be, or how fast the lights will get brighter
- Turning on normal lamp vs sleeping sequence
- Cutting apart the lamp base for input area to connect to computer
