For Lab 2 Part A, I made a poor decision and decided to model my sunglasses. I wanted something harder than say my water bottle, but this ended up being pretty difficult.
These are the pictures I modeled with. I felt that this would be of medium difficulty when I started.
After working on the front of the sunglasses I realized how difficult this was going to be. I traced out the front of the sunglasses. I first tried to use network surface as I am still learning how exactly that works. I kept trying to do different things and all it would say is it wasn’t working. So I ended up used sweep to make them into a solid. This did not work very well. I ended up using curves to split the solid that I wanted from the jagged edges.
Next came the ear pieces. I thought this would result in a bit of an easier time, and thankfully it did. I decided to do a simple cylinder after attempting to use sweep again and failing. The back part of the sunglasses seemed like a good time to try sweep again, so I drew a curve and put a rectangle at the bottom end and a circle at the top end. This turned out pretty well, but I wanted to bend the end, as they slightly tilt in. This lead to a long process of trying to get it to bend in without doing something crazy with the shape. I finally decided rotate was what I needed, and rotated the back part in. I then used the copy command and adjusted as necessary by using the gumball to rotate and move.
I then realized that where the nose hits was empty. I used a curve and extruded the curve from there to add the nose piece in.
I finally wanted to make the actual glasses part of the sunglasses, and had no idea how to do this. I knew it wasn’t planar, so Planar Surface would not work. I ended up googling it and patch ended up working fantastically. I then extruded the surface to make it have a bit of depth.
I next tried to join each piece, but boolean union would not work, no matter if they were for certain touching or not. Although I feel as if I am not done, I am content with my piece and surprised at how long it took me to model something that seems somewhat simple.

Our documentary is about how to scare people, named The Horror Handbook. The synopsis of our documentary is to show how people have been scared in the past, show different ways to scare people and determine how to scare them, and finally, people testing out their techniques.
